Rock Band 4 to be Co-Published By Peripheral Manufacturer Mad Catz

The upcoming Rock Band 4 is being published by developer Harmonix, but today we learned that the game is going to be co-published by the company building the game’s new instrument peripherals, Mad Catz.

Its certainly uncommon for a peripheral manufacturer to be publishing a game but according to Mad Catz this will be to help with “leading global sales, promotions and distribution.”

With how many instruments will need to be built for release, Rock Band 4 is huge for Mad Catz so its not surprising that they would want to work closely with Harmonix on the game beyond simply planning the instruments.

In the same post on their site, Mad Catz also did a bit of teasing for E3, so we’ll likely hear a lot more about the game once mid-June rolls around.
