on August 2, 2012 7:15 PM

Ubisoft today announced that Rocksmith, the first rhythm game that allows players to plug in their actual guitars, will be receiving a bass guitar expansion pack on August 14th. The expansion pack will alter 53 of the original on-disc tracks that feature bass, as well as any previous DLC purchased, updating them and making playable bass an option. The expansion will also feature dedicated bass technique challenges, tutorial videos and mini-games to help bassists of any level improve their skills like 2-finger plucking, slapping, and popping.

For fans that don’t happen to own a bass, Rocksmith has taken you into account as well. Any 6-string guitar can be plugged in and used as a 4 string bass. However, the game grants tracking and other support options for those who have an actual bass guitar. The bass expansion pack will retail for $29.99. Guitar enthusiasts of any level will appreciate the addition.
