Rockstar Advises Xbox 360 Owners Not to Install Play Disc for Grand Theft Auto V

on September 16, 2013 11:33 AM

Grand Theft Auto fans…your wait is almost over. With GTA V‘s release only hours away, gamers will be eager and chomping at the bit for Rockstar’s newest open-world opus.

Rockstar did provide caution though in responding to a question on the studio’s official Twitter account, where they did mention that Xbox 360 owners should be wary of performance issues if installing both game discs to their consoles. Grand Theft Auto V will be releasing on two discs for Xbox 360, where one disc will be a mandatory install disc, while the other will be a “play” disc. Rockstar, however, advises not to install the “play” disc to the console’s hard drive, as doing so may have an effect on “optimal performance” of the game. The tweet mentioned that Rockstar will be releasing more details on this matter at the game’s launch.

Grand Theft Auto V releases on September 17th, 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
