One of the main things that fans have wanted from the Batman: Arkham series was the ability to drive the Batmobile. Rocksteady Studios always wanted to have the Caped Crusader’s vehicle in the games too but couldn’t due to hardware limitations. With the advent of next-gen consoles it was now possible for the team to finally let players into the driver’s seat of one of the most iconic cars in pop culture.
The open world of Arkham Knight was actually designed around the Batmobile to some extent. The main thing that the team wanted was to bring forth a “genuine” Batmobile experience. This means that they didn’t want players being blocked by environmental objects. Batman’s ride is an unstoppable juggernaut and as such, a city had to be created to make this possible. The Batmobile can ram through anything which means that destructible environments were needed. This is something that would have been impossible on the last gen systems.
You can watch a brief video which talks about the Batmobile but for more info, make sure to head over to the link below.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this fall.
