Rovio Getting Large Investment, Will Value Company At $1.2B

Rovio, the developer of Angry Birds, is currently negotiating a funding deal that would make the company worth about $1.2-billion, Bloomberg reports. Yeah. Angry Birds is… pretty big.

Rovio’s planning on using the investment to make Angry Birds into a multimedia franchise; the animated film’s already in the works and they’re planning on launching lines of clothing and plush toys in China soon.

Angry Birds is ridiculously large right now, but I wonder how much they’ll be able to get out of that IP. To me, it seems like they’re putting all of their eggs in one basket, and it’s a hell of a lot of eggs.
