Today, developer Sidebar Games announced its brand-new game, an RPG golf game, for the Nintendo Switch.

A Switch exclusive, Golf Story notably carries within its debut trailer (which you can catch at the bottom of the article) some serious Earthbound vibes. In the game you play the story of a golfer, "forced to give up all that he holds dear for one final shot at accomplishing his dream.

A description continues: "But all is not so simple in the world of golf. To best today's players you have to be able to keep up with them not just on the course, but also off it."

According to Sidebar Games you can tee up anywhere in the game across 8 unique enviroments, each with its own courses, towns people, and secrets. As you play through you can upgrade your golfer by completing challenges, solving puzzles, and buying new equipment. As for the story, it is pitched as "dramatic" and containing a diverse set of characters.

Beyond events like long driver tournaments, disc golf, mini, and wee links, there is also extra challenges such as races, mowing, drone flights and geocaching.

Golf Story is set to release on Switch sometime this summer at an unknown price-point. Below, you can check out the game's debut, announcement trailer:
