Rumor: Microsoft and EA Set to Announce an Exclusive Content Deal at Next XBOX Unveiling

on February 27, 2013 9:09 AM

According to CVG, XBOX has secured a deal with Electronic Arts that will grant them exclusive content from the publisher. What exactly that means remains unclear but looking at what it costs to develop and ship a game these days it’s doubtful that the agreement will reach beyond downloadable content exclusives, and perhaps (at most), staggered release dates.

Last week, Sony and Activision announced a similar partnership where the upcoming Destiny from developer Bungie will bring exclusive content to PS3 and PS4 gamers after the title launches. Just like the XBOX/EA deal it’s not an outright exclusive, but it may be enough content to sway fans into picking one platform over the other.

Either way, all eyes will be on the rumored XBOX event taking place in April where it’s rumored we’ll see the new console from Microsoft as well ast any news about upcoming exclusivity agreements. Make sure you stay tuned to DualShockers for more news.
