Let’s start off Friday morning with our salt shakers, shall we? Sony and Microsoft may be planning to crash Nintendo’s party at E3 this year by unveiling the newest Xbox and PlayStation console models alongside the Wii U. As Nintendo prepares their upcoming console for its grand coming-out party, confirming the system’s final details and a sizable software lineup, the two major hardware contenders could be waiting in the wings to steal the spotlight.
Granted, speculation has run rampant since last year that E3 2012 would bring news of the next Xbox, and PlayStation 4 talk — with the Vita only recently released into the wild — has cooled off considerably. According to one report, however, Microsoft will drop some tidbits on the ethereal mystery hardware as part of their final keynote at CES this upcoming Monday.
