After the bevy of announcements this morning coming from both Microsoft and Sony from Gamescom this upcoming holiday season with their new consoles launching, it seems like Nintendo may have something else up its sleeve to entice gamers during the busy end of the year for its consoles as well.
According to a report originally from Destructoid, sources at American retail-chain Target have leaked information from their store’s inventory system that show listings for two new bundles that may be coming from Nintendo during the holidays for both the Wii U and 3DS XL paired with some of the company’s biggest games releasing this year: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Pokemon X & Y.
Per the listings, the sources seem to indicate that Nintendo plans on two bundles sometime in the October – December timeframe:
– Wii U Bundle (32GB Deluxe Edition) w/ The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for $349.99
– 3DS XL Bundle (Red or Blue-colored versions) w/ Pokemon X or Y for $199.99 – The specific game version with which specific 3DS XL color was not clearly mentioned in the store listings. Given the colors on the box art for each game it can be assumed that the blue version will come with Pokemon X and the red version will come with Pokemon Y, but no official details are available at the moment.
While details on the bundles are still vague and not officially confirmed by Nintendo at this point, the possibilities of the bundles launching in time for the holidays is still very probable: Pokemon X & Y are releasing on October 12th in the US, and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD is currently set for an October release as well, although a firm release date has yet to be confirmed.
Nintendo will likely have another Nintendo Direct in the coming months before the holidays, so stay tuned for more details on these (potentially sweet) Wii U and 3DS XL bundles.
