Rumor: Pandemic Studios Closing Its Doors Today

on November 17, 2009 1:32 PM

Pandemic Studios, the studio working on the upcoming The Saboteur, will be closed today by conglomerate publisher EA today, according to some sources speaking to the folks over at Kotaku. As per the sources, Pandemic Studios staff members will be informed today at around 2PM EST of the tragic news. Not all of the news will be bad for some of the workers, however. Some of the staff will merge with other EA teams while others will, undoubtedly, lose their jobs. Although this might come as a surprise for many, some of us were expecting this when EA previously announced the reduction of their 1,500 staff members. Rumor has it that any current Pandemic Studios projects in the works will make their ways over to EA’s Montreal branch in Canada.

Take this with a grain of salt, folks. Although it sounds drastic – and it will be if true – this information isn’t set in stone yet. Hoping for the best for the folks over at Pandemic, we here at DualShockers will make sure to keep everyone informed of any news that surfaces regarding these reports from EA and/or Pandemic Studios.
