Rumor: PlayStation Motion Controller Renamed to ‘Arc’

on January 19, 2010 1:26 PM

If you recall last year’s E3, Sony unveiled a motion controller which looked a lot like a lengthy butt-plug rather than anything “controller” related. Even though the thing looked like something out of an S&M shop here in the village in New York City, the motion controller seriously caught the attention of tons of people for more reasons than mentioned above.

Previously codenamed “Gem,” an anonymous source speaking to VG247 stated that the PlayStation Motion Controller will officially be called “Arc” by launch time. Sony declined to comment on the story.

It’s kind of annoying to have to play this game of “guess what the name of this is going to be” with both Microsoft and Sony. We could care less what it’s called, people. If the device is awesome, there’s no need to try to instill a “catchy” name. Hell, for all most of us care, you can call that Motion Controller Dill-Doh or the Stinky-Stick. We just want a name that sticks already. Sheesh.
