Rumor: Sega Sitting on Shenmue HD, Shenmue II

on March 16, 2012 11:15 AM

According to an “industry source” over at GamerZines, the Shenmue high-definition revamp has been sitting around for “well over a year,” as well as Shenmue II HD.

The source claims that Sega has been clinging to the project while they assess the future of the franchise, hoping to glean a better idea as to how a Shenmue III would be received.

Back in April 2010, Xbox Live Arcade and PartnerNet leaked images showing downloadable versions of Jet Set Radio and Shenmue II, then codenamed “Project Berkley II.” Earlier this week Segateased remakes for Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia, claiming they are the Dreamcast titles most requested for download on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcarde.
