Back in December I reported on NBA Live 14' getting a series of updates within the coming months to "improved experience." Now it looks like EA Sports is delivering on that promise as they have provided details on what the second update will entail which will release "as early as Monday" according to a tweet.

In the upcoming update, you can expect to see Shootaround Mode, visual and gameplay tweaks.

Shootaround will essentially allow for a smoother gameplay when shooting hoops, the controls are easier to maneuver without having to outwit defenders or watch a shot clock. EA Sports calls Shootaround the "first step" toward creating a "robust, comprehensive onboarding experience." You will also see changes to ball physics, passing speeds, dribbling and first steps.

What really got me excited was learning that the updates will include lighting and color changes to address the "plastic" appearance of players, making the game appear more realistic.

EA Sports also plans on using the technique of scanning the heads of NBA players to approach photorealism for next year's game.
