See the Difference HD Makes In Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster; Limited Edition Contents Revealed

on July 9, 2013 3:00 PM

Remember when I complained that I couldn’t see the difference between the original Final Fantasy X and the HD upgrades? It seems Square Enix took that challenge and rose me a trailer showing exactly what they changed. And I would be remiss if I said I wasn’t impressed.

This video uses the very iconic opening scene from FFX to display a split screen comparing the regular SD graphics to the upgraded HD graphics. Boy, what a difference high definition makes. The lighting and colors have been improved dramatically, the graphics smoothed out and the character models–especially the faces–look really great now.

In other news, the contents of the Limited Edition set Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster have been revealed, which includes a 24-page early PS2 system era concept artbook, along with commentary from the original Final Fantasy X and X-2 development teams and a special message from Producer Yoshinori Kitase. The best part? If you pre-order the game, you get an automatic upgrade to limited edition.

Both the comparison trailer and screenshots of the Limited Edition collection and gameplay footage are posted below.
