Shank Developers Tease Mark of the Ninja With Text-Based Adventure

on February 27, 2012 2:20 PM

Back in the old days, Choose Your Own Adventure books were the alternative for kids whose parents couldn’t afford video games. Well, it seems Klei Entertainment, the folks behind Shank and Shank 2 remember those days fondly as they’ve published an interactive text-based adventure located entirely within your Internet browser to tease the upcoming release of Mark of the Ninja.

You enter the story as a ninja on a mission. Where you go from there is pretty much up to you. Choices are made by clicking on different hyperlinks scattered throughout the copy. Some of the links contain background information once clicked. Just like those Choose Your Own Adventure books, some story paths will lead you toward adventure and intrigue while others end with you being impaled on your own sword.

Upon completion of this little teaser game a short cutscene plays wherein your choices are animated and you get … a game announcement screen. Summer 2012. It’s coming.
