WayForward will indeed be moving way forward with their original IP Shantae in its latest iteration, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, a follow-up to 2002's Shantae and 2010's Shantae: Risky's Revenge. With Shantae: Half-Genie Hero reaching its $400,000 goal, development can now commence for multiple platforms.

WayForward revealed that stretch goals will include playable heroes and a new chapter. The nearest stretch goal of $500,000 will allow gamers to play as Shantae's nemesis, Risky Boots, in her own campaign. The character comes equipped with a scimitar and pistol.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is being developed by WayForward Technologies and will be published for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, PS Vita, and PS Vita TV. At the time of this post, the game has amassed nearly $417,000 of its $500,000 stretch goal with 10 days left in the Kickstarter campaign.
