PlayStation launched the first teaser trailer for Shenmue III, coming to PlayStation 4 and PC in 2018.

The first trailer for the KickStarted game shows many of the environments that players will be able to explore during the game's story. It's evident that they have created a world that fits accurately in the Shenmue universe which is a series that began in 1999. This includes character models similar to what fans have seen from the series, but it's left to be seen if that will translate well for modern gamers.

Additionally, fans finally get the chance to see character models moving and interacting in the game's engine. Again, it's interesting to see how far along the character design for Ryo Hazuki has come since 2001's Shenmue II, but he still holds a similar look to classic Sega titles.

Honestly, this trailer brought with it a ton of nostalgia and memories of growing up with the series and being apart of the conversation for a third installment. Many questions still surround what fans will see when actual gameplay footage is shown, but this is all we get for now.

Earlier this month, Shenmue III received new screenshots showing the characters and the Great Wall of China, an environment that is within game.
