Today's issue of Weekly Famitsu included a new year message from Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse Producer Kazuyuki Yamai, teasing something relevant happening next year for the Shin Megami Tensei series.

Imai-san mentioned that the series is going to pass a "milestone" for further development in 2017, and he hopes to share something with the fans next year.

"The "Megaten" Series will have an important milestone for further development next year. As a stakeholder, but also as one of the fans, I hope to be able to share "something" with you next year."

No further details were provided, and it's unclear whether this milestone will be the release of a new game in 2017 or a development milestone towards one that will be released afterwards.

That said, we'll most probably hear more over the course of 2017, so all we can do for now is to wait.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is the latest game of the popular series, affectionately nicknamed "Megaten" by the fans, it was released in North America back in September, and just a few days ago in Europe. If you're wondering on its quality, you can check out our review.
