The Senran Kagura series is one that is loved by many western gamers. The series features fast ninja action, with plenty of fanservice for those who want it. The series’ newest entry announced for the west, Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash, introduces the girls to the third person shooter genre, coming to PlayStation 4 this fall.

However, this is not the newest game from Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki. During a Nintendo Direct in the Japan, Takaki-san took the spotlight to introduce a Switch exclusive Senran Kagura game titled Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura, with little information shared other than the game will be “pure and healthy”.

During E3 2017, DualShockers had the chance to sit down with Takaki-san and ask about this mysterious title. When pressed about any new information he is able to share with us, the producer said:

The Switch game was included in the Nintendo Direct in Japan. Since then, we haven’t really said much about it, but it’s going to be a different flavor of a Senran Kagura title. It’s going to use HD Rumble to its full extent and the idea is that it’s going to be an interesting game to allow the player to feel the girl inside the game.

We followed up with asking if there’s any chance the game would be coming to the west, Takaki-san replied:

We definitely want to localize it, but we have to see what comes of it and if it’s possible.

It seems that Takaki-san has clear vision of how he would like to utilize the Switch’s Joy-Cons. It’s definitely a unique and interesting concept, one that I wouldn’t mind getting some hands on time with for research.

Stay tuned for the full interview with Takaki-san where we talk about the future of the Senran Kagura series, and Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash.
