We've spent a lot of time debating some of the more major aspects of the next generation of video games here on the ShockCast. Tonight however, we're going to spend some time talking about what the term "next-gen" actually means. Everyone seems to have their own definition despite the term being thrown around haphazardly enough.

And with that, what of the games that are released alongside the start of a new generation? What do IPs need to do to establish themselves in a climate that is very different from that of the 90s and early 2000s. How does a game like Watch_Dogs establish its relevance and how does Mario maintain his relevance?

As usual, we'll also be discussing some big news regarding Xbox One and PS4, Titanfall, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III, Halo 5, Doom, and others.

The ShockCast is LIVE tonight at 9pm EST. The downloadable copy will be available tomorrow afternoon at 1pm. Many thanks to El Blanco Niño for our custom intro and outro.
