Shockcast Episode 17- Reviewers Integrity (or Lack There of)Another hard hitting episode for you all this week. In it, we discuss a trend that unfortunately seems to be spreading like wild fire amongst gaming journalists. What is it? It’s the fine art of faking reviews just to get them out first. Red Dead Redemption was the title that inspired this topic as it was the most recent one that has gone through this. Media outlets (in the US at least) all received their copies the same date, yet some had reviews on day of. While some sites DO have debug units and can get review code ahead of time, it definitely isn’t as easy some people think is to get a hold of one. That’s why we’re calling bullsh*t on many of the reviews, and decided to look into reviews in general. On the show we had special guest Ross Furman from SFX-360 who came on to let everyone know why “The Gamers Gone Wild” party will be the place to be at E3 in a couple of weeks. We also discuss the week in news, where we talk about the highlights of the past 7 days. All in all another great show is in the bag, give it a listen below!
