ShockCast Episode 34 – “Cry Baby Developers and Review Scores”

on October 8, 2010 12:00 PM

ShockCast PodCast LogoThis past week, one outspoken game developer didn’t agree with some of the flak his title had been receiving. And when I say flak, I mean a review score that he didn’t exactly agree with. Rather than taking the criticism in stride, he instead decided to call out the integrity of the person who wrote the review, by stating that it was being played the right way (whatever that means). We had a similar situation with “Braid” for PSN last year when the game’s creator, Jonathan Blow contacted us in regards to the score we gave his title assuming that we would change it. Earth to developers: IF YOU’RE GAME IS TRASH and you shipped it, prepare to deal with the consequences, simple as that. That’s just one of the topics we touch base on this week. We also discuss the recent halt on PSP development units and what it really means for the future of the handheld. We round it all up with some talk about zombies becoming the new “fps” in gaming as well as this week’s top stories. All in all, a solid show make sure to give it a listen!
