Yacht Club Games’ took to their Kickstarter to announce and that Shovel Knight will be making its way over to the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Those not familiar, Shovel Knight is attempting to be funded through Kickstarter and is a game that combines the gameplay of old school games such as MegaMan with a classic 8-bit style. The game was originally planned for a Steam release if their Kickstarter campaign hits its goal.

A new tier has been added because Nintendo requires payment for each copy of the game code that is given out for download. Those that pledge $15 or more will get a code for the platform of their choice, either 3DS or Wii U, alongside the PC version. There will also be 3DS dual screen functionality as well as support for the Wii U GamePad.

Old school gamers, especially MegaMan fans, will want to check out the game’s Kickstarter campaign and consider contributing to it.
