Shovel Knight Brings the Pain (and the Shovels) on March 31st in New Trailer

Shovel Knight is bringing plenty of old-school nostalgia for classic NES-era platforming and adventure, and it looks like the wait for some of Shovel Knight‘s action won’t be too much longer.

Announced by developer Yacht Club Games alongside a new trailer for the game, Shovel Knight will be releasing on PC, Mac, Linux, Wii U, and 3DS on March 31st, 2014, as the game currently heads into alpha development before its full release. Yacht Club games updated on its official site that the game has now completed its first pass with its alpha build, detailing:

“All features are implemented. All levels are playable. All bosses are fightable. All items are gettable! Everything is there. You can play the entire game from front to back. It’s all real!”

With the game now in its alpha testing, Yacht Club is looking to get the game into beta development for final bug testing and fixes, and to finalize the game before it launches this coming March.

Shovel Knight releases on March 31st, 2014 for PC, Mac, Linux, Wii U, and 3DS – in the meantime, you can check out the latest trailer for the game below:
