Sid Meier to Keynote GDC2010

One of the most legendary figures in videogame history is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Game Developers Conference 2010.  He has developed numerous games including Pirates, Civilization, and Railroad Tycoon. He also has the distinct honor of being the 2nd person to be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences’ Hall of Fame.

Anyways, his speech is entitled “The Psychology of Game Design (Everything You Know Is Wrong)” and will have Sid talking about the psychology of the player versus historical and mathematical facts in forming the foundation of a successful game design. Personally, I cannot wait to hear this speech. Being a psychology major and having one of your idols talk about psychology and video games is like a dream come true. I’m super geeked out just thinking about it. Sadly, we’ll have to wait til March to hear it. Man, everything good is coming out in March, FF13, God of War 3…Man, February is going to suck!

Currently going to school in Indiana so when Drew isn't studying, you can find him playing games. Though he is typically playing games from this current generation, he'll still bust out classic consoles for a night of nostalgic gaming. If he is not studying or gaming, he is usually out working on his photography. Thinks sleep is for the weak. Favorite Games: Metal Gear Solid, Mega Man 2, Goldeneye
