In the next installment of the franchise, Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth will focus on a new sci-fi theme where all of modern society has collapsed under the weight of itself and now lives under a new, yet uncertain, world order. Picking up the role as a leader for a new space-based frontier, your job will be to explore, colonize, research, raise armies, and build new Wonders on alien planets.

Tactical decisions will include picking from among eight different sponsors, building a spacecraft, and carefully selecting both cargo and colonists. Alien planets will have both dangers and benefits that will range from hostile life forms to special resources. You will also be able to establish trade routes, tame local wildlife, and build outposts.

Technology advancements will show progress in your game and will be made available through nonlinear choices. The multiplayer PVP will be up to eight players fighting for dominance over a new world along with mod support for a more customizable experience.
