Chinese game developer Dark Star Studios revealed its upcoming Dark Souls-like game, Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption. The game was announced at Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia’s ChinaJoy 2017 press conference.

The official announcement trailer has finally been released, and we get a few more details, includig the platforms, which will be PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game will be released in 2018, published in the west by Another Indie Studio.

The animation and general design of the game is quite similar to Dark Souls; even having the large red font after defeat, imitating the Dark Souls’ “YOU DIED” screen.

The art and especially backgrounds have a slightly different look to them; appearing closer to the fantastical illustrations of Nioh than the realistic 3D modeling of a Souls game.

According to Inven that tried the game at ChinaJoy in Shanghai, it is a high-quality title with a very high difficulty. They died several times in their playthrough and mentioned that in their time playing the game at the booth, no one could defeat the boss of the demo.
