Today developer Big Box VR announced that its game Smashbox Arena will be free this weekend on Steam. The event will run from tomorrow, May 17th, 2017, to Sunday, May 21st, 2017.

In addition to the free weekend, the developer also announced that the title will be headlining the Zotac Cup Masters tournament with a Smashbox Arena exhibition match. The event will take place on June 2nd, 2017 at 11:00 pm PDT (June 3rd, 2017 at 2:00 am EDT). If players want to watch the match, they can do so here.

Lock and load in this multiplayer, team combat game, fighting your way through glorious VR worlds. Teleport to the top of structures and shoot through a sniper scope, all while coordinating strategy during fast-paced rounds. Insane physics–driven power-ups put your trigger finger on heat-seeking missiles, grenades, and fireballs. Battle until one team wins through VR environments, from space stations, shipping terminals and rock quarries. Inspired by Mario Kart and Counter-Strike, play in Single Player Story Mode and Online Multiplayer mode.

Smashbox Arena was released on PC on December 7th, 2016, and requires either the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift VR units and their respective controllers. On May 4th, the developer announced that the title would be coming to PlayStation VR this summer, however as of this writing there is no firm date for that release.
