on January 31, 2012 7:00 PM

Fans of SNK’s colorful fighter the King of Fighters XIII have been waiting on a patch to address various issues in the game since the game’s  release months ago. This is an unusually long wait time for a post-launch patch, specifically for a fighting game. If you were worried that the developers had cancelled the patch or forgot about it or something of that nature, you can breathe easy. SNK has dropped some much needed details on the patch. First and foremost, the patch will be available on PSN before it is available on Xbox Live.

No reasoning was given for this, although it is most likely due to a difference in the times that the two services update. Other, more substantial details were also revealed, including the fact that the patch will address connectivity issues in the online mode, as well as a number of issues in the game’s various offline modes. The actual patch notes have been translated from Japanese, so credit is due to the translator:

  1. You can filter ranked matches by ping  (so only players with the bars you want can enter
  2. Custom Match settings are saved between sessions
  3. Adjusted display of ping levels
  4. Adjusted stability of online connections
  5. Fixed some bugs in PLAYER DATA section
  6. Fixed some bugs in REPLAY section
  7. Fixed a number of bugs related to CUSTOMIZE and downloadable characters
