If you were on Steam over the weekend, you may have noticed the appearance of a special indie game bundle called The Potato Sack. Containing 13 seemingly random indie games, the bundle is a freaking steal for a bunch of games that are all equally excellent.
However, others are finding that there’s more to The Potato Sack than meets the eye; gamers are reporting slight changes within the games packaged in it. Along with some various potato-themed humor, no doubt in celebration of April Fool’s, there’s also an abundant appearance of various glyphs in random areas in games, along with other odd crossovers leading on a wild goose chase to who knows where.
It’s all been documented in this extensive Wiki dedicated to Valve’s ARG antics. Further drawing the raised brows of Valve loyalists is the update that Team Fortress 2 received today. It’s normally not a big deal, as Valve patches their games whenever necessary, except take a look at the update notes. Hmm, curiouser and curiouser.
The last time this happened, we saw the reveal of Portal 2. If this one leads anywhere, what could it possibly uncover? Half-Life 2: Episode 3? Half-Life 3? An entirely new IP? I guess we’ll all have to strap in and find out.
