Sonic’s Father’s New Studio Working on a Next Generation Game for PS4 and Xbox One

Yuji Naka is best known as the former head of Sonic Team, and as the Lead Programmer that gave us the first three chapters of the Sonic franchise. Not everyone know that after leaving Sega he created his own indie studio, Prope.

Since then he worked on small titles for portables and smartphones, but looks like he’s ready to make the jump to the major league again, with a next generation project for PS4 and Xbox One.

Prope’s recruitment page just published an “urgent” recruitment notice for a project on “next generation” platforms (PS4 and Xbox One are explicitly mentioned).

That said, the project still seems to be a social game, and will probably be in 2D, as the ad mentions “social gaming operation experience” and looks for background designers, 2d designers and effects designers.

We’ll have to wait and see what Yuji Naka and his team are up to. Hopefully it’ll be good.
