Sony just released the data of a new PS3 model to be released this month. The new console (CECH-3000B) will retain the same hardware characteristics of the old one, but will feature reduced weight (2.6 Kg instead of the previous 3.2) and lower power consumption (200W instead of 230). The new model will also include a 320 GB hard disk.

A special version of the new PS3 will be released bundled with Tales of Xillia in Japan, dubbed the “Tales of Xillia X Edition”, but will include a 160 GB hard drive instead of the 320 one. No stand-alone 160 GB model has been announced so far. See it after the jump.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
