A few weeks ago IGN posted an article that casted doubts on whether Sony still planned to release Driveclub this year or not, and the layoffs confirmed yesterday at Evolution studio raised further concerns. Today the company posted a long list of games slated for a 2014 release.

Luckily Driveclub is definitely still there, even if it's still marked at TBA, meaning that it still doesn't have a firm release window.

While this confirms that the beautiful looking driving game is still scheduled for a 2014 release, it also indicates that it most probably will miss its previously indicated "early" 2014 window, especially considering that we're already at the end of March and we didn't get a single word about it.

The absence of the game in the "spring" release window probably means that we can expect it in the summer at the earliest, as it's doubtful that such a relevant first party game would launch without a few months of buildup from the announcement of the final release date. Of course I'd be very happy to be proven wrong on this, but at least now we know that we won't have to wait for 2015.

Update: apparently a Sony Spokesperson told Videogamer that "an update on development, release date and videos of the game in action" will be shared "in the weeks to come."
