Sony Invites Indie Developers to Publish Under Playstation Mobile For Free

on May 8, 2013 9:32 PM

In an ongoing initiative to encourage Indie development for Sony platforms, Sony is waiving their $99 publisher license fee for Playstation Mobile, allowing developers to publish their games to the Playstation Vita and Playstation-certified devices free of coast.

There’s a ton of ways to learn more about this PS Mobile initiative: Sony have introduced the Playstation Mobile Dev Portal, a list of Playstation-certified devices, a link to download the Playstation Mobile Store, and a newly redesigned Playstation Mobile website. This seems to go hand in hand with Sony’s approach with inviting indie developers to publish to the Playstation Network, making it easier to self-publish with Sony, and giving more attention to Indie titles┬áin the Playstation Store. And in case you need any inspiration, Sony has a nifty little trailer below to encourage you to publish your games with them.

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
