Sony Japan to Livestream PS4 Release Date Announcement, Tokyo Game Show Conference Probably Won’t Be

on September 5, 2013 12:15 AM

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia is going to hold a press conference on September the 9th at 3 PM Japan Time, where a lot of interesting stuff is expected to happen, including the announcement of the release date of the PS4 in the region.

Today Sony WorldWide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida tweeted that the conference will be livestreamed for us all to enjoy at 11 PM Pacific Time on September the 8th.

Unfortunately not all the news are good. If we look at the question Yoshida-san responded to, the slightly evasive answer definitely seems to indicate that the Tokyo Game Show keynote titled β€œThe Creative World of PlayStation 4” won’t be livestreamed, and there’s also no mention of a live broadcast on the official TGS schedule, which is a pity considering that the title by itself makes it sound very interesting.

We reached out to SCEJA to ask for a clarification on the issue, and we’ll keep you posted if we receive anything of relevance. In the meanwhile we can at least enjoy the conference on September the 9th, that will be livestreamed on Sony’s Japanese PlayStation website.
