Sony: PlayStation Now Will Increase PS4 Fans and Video Game Fans: “You Miss Out on a Lot of Fun Without a PS4”

on January 9, 2014 1:33 PM

The announcement of PlayStation Now triggered a very diverse range of reactions, and on the internet some even came to wonder if Sony is preparing to leave the hardware market. A Sony Spokesperson told J-Cast News that this is not the case.

Allowing people to play even if they don’t buy the hardware is an entryway to them becoming video game fans. You miss out on a lot of fun without a PS4. I believe this will lead to an increase of PS4 fans and video game fans.

Apparently Sony is after the lofty goal of bridging the gap between gamers and non-gamers. Many tried before, with results that are difficult to evaluate. Will PlayStation Now manage to create new game fans and ultimately to funnel them towards the PS4? That’s a possibility, but we won’t know until the service will be up and running.
