Sony Releasing an Updated PS3 Remote, Includes Fancier Buttons

If you’ve been agonizing over the decision to buy a remote for your PS3 or not, you might want to hold off a little longer. It seems Sony has a new, redesigned remote coming our way later in the month that will not only work on your PS3, but with Sony TVs and other audio peripherals, as well. This remote has been out in Japan since earlier in the year, but now we’ll be able to pick it up over in America.

The remote also includes functionality for new services that are available through Sony products, like Netflix and Hulu. It’s probable the remote will sell at a similar price point as the original – in the realm of $25-$30. Maybe I’ll finally get around to picking up a remote, getting rid of the controller once and for all when I’m only watching TV or DVDs. Wouldn’t that be something.
