Sony Santa Monica Quietly Deletes New PlayStation Experience Tease and “Significant Role” Mention

on January 2, 2015 4:18 PM

Lately Sony Santa Monica seems to be sharing quite a lot of interesting information, only to realize that they revealed either too much or too early and try to cover their tracks. They did it with the reveal of the new God of War for PS4, initially confirmed on Twitter and then quietly deleted, and they just did it again.

A few days ago they posted a blog entry on their official site, in which Studio Head Shannon Studstill mentioned being sure that there’d be a new PlayStation Experience late next year, and expecting Sony Santa Monica to play a significant role in it.

And while I’m sure the PlayStation Experience will be back for Round 2 sometime late next year, we expect that Santa Monica Studio will play a significant role in it yet again.

Looks like, while pretty generic, the reveal was considered too much, and it has since been quietly removed. Luckily, we have a screenshot from the posterity, as you can see at the bottom of the post, comparing before and after the edit.

While we don’t fully know the reason behind the edit, and whether it was the mention of a new PlayStation Experience or the “significant role” (or both) that was considered taboo, it will definitely be interesting to see what will happen at the next PlayStation Experience, assuming that there will be one, of course.
