Sony Interactive Entertainment's very own Japan Studio may arguably have the most unique lineup of games when compared to other first party studios owned by the company.

The developer has set themselves apart from other Sony-owned first party studios by creating games that are much more obscure when compared to the likes of Uncharted, Horizon, God of War, or Infamous. If you're unfamiliar with Japan Studio some of their titles include Shadow of the Colossus, Ape Escape, Bloodborne, Freedom Wars, Knack, Gravity Rush, and many more.

In an interview with IGN Japan Studio's Senior Vice President Allan Becker said:

“Without having to state too much more, with Gravity Rush 2 finishing up and The Last Guardian finishing up, we reached this big milestone within Japan Studio, and so finally we feel like we’re free to do new things. We’re going to finish up Knack 2 as well, so, as for the internal team, they’re much more freed up, so we are thinking about starting up several new titles.”

Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida also added that he likes to see equal effort on continuing on popular IP and creating new ones.

Japan Studio's latest title, Knack 2, is coming exclusively to PS4 later this year on September 5.
