Blockbuster UK announced a few days ago that all PS4 (and Xbox One) preorders made at the retailer were canceled due to the company being pushed into administration. After that, the retail chain offered an online form to try and collect data about those that still wanted their consoles, promising to "do everything they could to ensure you can get a next generation console for the day of release."

Today Sony Computer Entertainment UK announced over three tweets on their Playstation Access account that they're taking the situation in hand directly.

Blockbuster Update: Blockbuster are now verifying the applications to identity those who had genuine PS4 pre-orders.

Once this process is complete your information will be passed onto us and we will be in contact regarding your new PS4 pre-order.

Everyone is working hard to get the process completed as quickly as possible and we appreciate your understanding.

Hopefully, now that Sony is working directly on the problem, those that were left stranded by Blockbuster will still manage to get their coveted console in time for launch.

It's easy to see how important this launch is for Sony Computer Entertainment. They're really making an unprecedented effort to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
