The first Destiny was published directly by Sony Computer Entertainment in Japan, and ended up being exclusive for PS4 and PS3 in the country. Today the house of PlayStation sent a press release announcing that it will publish the PS4 version of Destiny 2 as well for the local market.

The press release did not make any mention of exclusivity, and the same can be said about all related promotional material, but no announcement has been made for a Japanese Xbox One or PC version for the moment. Both Microsoft and Activision have been silent about it, so we still don't know whether the game will make it to other platforms in Japan or not.

What we do know is that the PS4 version will fully localize Japanese audio and subtitles. That's not surprising, considering that the first game was quite popular in the country.

Pre-orders of the Japanese PS4 version will be made available on May 25th, and release will come on the same day as the rest of the world, September 8th.
