Sony’s Indie Game Champion Nick Suttner Leaves PlayStation After Seven Years

on June 30, 2016 8:47 PM

His formal title was Lead Account Manager at Sony Interactive Entertainment America, but Nick Suttner has been known in the past few years as the man who championed the games of many independent developers, on top of frequently appearing on PlayStation’s own BlogCast.

Today he announced that he’s leaving the PlayStation team, after seven years at the company.

While Suttner did not announce where his next destination will be, Third Party Production and Developer Relations Senior Director Gio Corsi mentioned that he is leaving to start “a whole new adventure,” so it’s very likely that Suttner’s upcoming workplace is already decided, and might be revealed soon.

Personally, I always had a lot of fun listening to him on the BlogCast, and I hope to see him back on the breach as soon as possible.

Update: in the latest episode of the PlayStation BlogCast, Suttner confirmed that he is still going to be working in the gaming industry.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
