SOPA and PIPA Are Dead in the Water. Internet 1 – Lobbies 0.

on January 20, 2012 1:15 PM

It finally happened: today SOPA and PIPA, the dreaded and unjust internet-strangling bills, have been indefinitely put on hold by the congress. Basically they are both dead in the water, at least for now.

While this is not strictly gaming news, it’s obvious that it affects gaming and gamers, independent developers that need youtube and similar sites to promote themselves and even gaming websites like ours, that will be (again, for now) able to continue showing you screenshots and trailers without fearing closure from a trigger-happy judge.

It’s a victory for freedom and for the millions that, one way or another, decided to make their voice heard against the two bills.
