Today, developer Streum On Studio  and publisher Focus Home Interactive announced that two days before its release -- December 9th -- Space Hulk: Deathwing has been delayed a couple of days, and will now release for PC on December 14th. A PS4 and Xbox One release date still remains as sometime in 2017.

The delay has been chalked up to providing the best possible experience possible at launch, by allowing Streum On Studio more time to make final adjustments and work on final optimizations.

The delay follows a closed technical beta beta last week, which according to Streum On Studio consisted of tens of thousands of players playing and providing feedback. The technical points raised during this beta, is likely what the developer is having to work on last minute. Such fixes include: drastic improvement in loading times, optimisation of general performance, improvement of interface and menu elements, sound-design changes including character voices, and fix of numerous bugs and nearly all occurrences of crashes.

Pre-orders for the game on Steam are now open, offering a 15% discount, and a bonus in-game weapon (the Lost Mace of Corswain). Space Hulk: Deathwing will release on December 14th for PC at the price point of $39.99 USD.
