In a recent datamine of Splatoon 2, users found assets related to maps and weapons that might be released in upcoming updates. Due to the nature of game development, that often involves the inclusion of unfinished content within a game's released code, is unclear if any of these things will actually make their way into the official game.

The list, which comes courtesy of Reddit user OatmealDome, begins by discussing maps that may be in the pipeline. For instance, there are incomplete files for new versions of Kelp Dome and Blackbelly Skatepark, as well as maps that may be in development named Line and Tunnel. Players might also be receiving some new Salmon Run stages named Shakehouse and Threepoints.

In regards to weapons, there may be a new blaster, charger, and brella coming thanks to the Grizzco brand within the game. There may also be a new weapon type in the works called the Squeezer. The Squeezer appears to be a semi-auto shooter with fire rate tied to how fast a player can pull the trigger. It appears that this new weapon type will be joined by the Splash Wall sub and the Sting Ray Special.
