The results for Splatoon 2's second Splatfest event have been calculated and despite the votes, Team Mayo has won.

Splatfest results are dictated into three categories: votes, solo, and team. While Ketchup blew Mayo out of the water in terms of votes, receiving 73% of them, the number of victories in solo and team allowed Team Mayo to squeeze out a victory.

Splatoon 2 Splatfest

Carrying over from the first Splatoon, Splatfest is an event that pits two teams, often times based on age old debates, and has players settle the score by voting and fighting for their chosen team. During the event, Ranked Mode and Turf War are disabled and replaced with Splatfest. The teams are based on your votes (i.e. 4 Mayo voters vs. 4 Ketchup voters). Previous Splatfests have seen fights between cats and dogs, cake and icecream, and even Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue.

Players who participated in the event will be rewarded Super Sea Snails depending on the Splatfest rank they achieved during the event, with all Splatfest t-shirts being removed from players' inventories as well.

Those who won obviously receive bragging rights, but the Super Sea Snails they snagged can also be put towards unlocking additional ability slots on clothing. Next time players will need to step it up for Marina.
