Splatoon, the successful third-person shooter on Wii U, will be getting continued support in 2016. Nintendo America's Bill Trinnen discussed the game during the latest Nintendo Direct, offering details on the new content players can expect.

The first update will land next week on March 8th and offers a patch to matchmaking servers and balances some of the currently available gear.

After that, an update that will add weapon combos will land in Splatoon under the name "Sheldon’s Picks." Content is expected to continue rolling out for Splatoon through the summer.
