Ubisoft has announced that Splinter Cell Blacklist will feature a multiplayer mode similar to that of its predecessors. Known as Spies vs. Mercs, it was the most successful multiplayer mode featured in Splinter Cell games, first appearing in 2004’s Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and in 2005’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. The mode also made appearance this generation in 2006’s Splinter Cell: Double Agent, but was absent from 2007’s Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Splinter Cell Blacklist is being developed by Ubisoft Toronto and will be published by Ubisoft for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U on August 20th, 22nd, and 23rd, 2013 in North America, Australia, and Europe, respectively. Ubisoft has released a teaser trailer for the multiplayer mode, available for viewing below.
