Square Enix Reveals Drakengard 3

on March 12, 2013 9:30 PM

The third numbered entry in Square Enix’s Drakengard series has been announced. This reveal comes via the newest issue of Famitsu, the popular Japanese gaming magazine. Drakengard 3 (known as Drag-On Dragoon 3 in Japan) will star a female protagonist named Zero and her sister named One. Zero is an Utautai – a person with the ability to wield magic through music. Her left arm is artificial, a flower envelopes her right eye and she is hot tempered, violent and easily annoyed.

One is also an Utautai, although her personality is calculating and intellectual compared to her sister. When splashed with blood, the Utautai grow more powerful. Most battles in Drakengard 3 will take place on the ground. Finally, the game is only confirmed for release on the PlayStation 3 and there is currently no release window.

If the series’ release history is any indication, Drakengard 3 will eventually see release in North America.
