Today Activision revealed that a standalone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is going to be coming out "first on PS4."

It will cost players $40 USD. Rumors had been circulating last month that the game would be getting a standalone release very soon, and fans of the series have been requesting it since Infinite Warfare's launch last year.

Modern Warfare: Remastered comes with 16 multiplayer maps and the original campaign, all with updated visuals.

Since Modern Warfare: Remastered's release the game's multiplayer content has been changed in a few ways through a slew of updates. Infinity Ward has added a bunch of new character and weapon skins, as well as a new micro-transaction system in the form of supply drops. You can either earn supply drops through normal play or you can purchase them with real-world money.

There's also a new crafting system similar to the one in Infinite Warfare. The standalone copy also does not come with the Variety Map Pack, you'll have to pay an extra 15 dollars for that. The map pack contains multiplayer maps from Modern Warfare's first DLC pack from 2008.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition bundle. The standalone version is coming out on June 27 first on PS4 with other versions to follow soon. You can check out the new launch trailer below.
